Pretty sure that I need these in my life.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Written on the sidewalk near Jack’s apartment. Love Graffiti in cursive. xoxo
scenes from my hood: in which i am 29 and have learned and know what i want and need.
i deserve a partner who thinks i hung the moon.
i deserve to think my partner is incorrect, since he is actually the one who hung the moon.
i deserve to be with someone who wants to hold my hand as often as possible.
i deserve to be with someone who will take out the trash because it is my…
I hope that you find him, because you do deserve him. So does every other woman out there. (Minus the Carolina gear, but that’s another story.)
More wedding weekend fun. This was pretty incredible.
From Kathy—gorgeous picture of the reception!
(a scene from Meg’s wedding reception)
I am back from twelve days in Florida. In those twelve days, John and I went from Fort Lauderdale to Miami to Fort Lauderdale to Tampa to Sarasota/Bradenton before heading back to Chicago. We packed in so much fun in those twelve days, but can I just say, WHEW. I am exhausted.
As expected, Meg’s wedding was absolutely gorgeous. She was married in the courtyard of the Ringling Museum of Art on a beautiful spring Florida evening. I felt like we were in the courtyard of a swanky Italian villa. Meg, you were a beautiful bride and I hate you for being in Bora Bora on the beach right now.
In other news, I also managed to snag myself a job while in Florida! I got a call asking for an interview the day before I left, two days later I was interviewed over the phone and five days after that, I had an offer in hand. After a full year of searching for employment in Washington DC, it has finally happened and quickly at that. It’s not my dream job or anywhere close to it, but it’s a good job with good pay and it’s in the city where John and I want to be (also, this means I can stop writing cover letters. I think if I had to write one more cover letter for one more job opening, my head was going to explode). The job starts April 12, but I will be in training in a yet-to-be-determined location somewhere in the US for six weeks. Once the end of May hits, John will put in his two weeks and we’ll move in to a (hopefully) fabulous apartment and start building our new life in our new city. I’m excited, terrified, anxious, happy and overwhelmed.
Who knew so much could happen while on vacation!
Best Weekend Ever!
Matt and Meg got hitched this weekend and they put on a heck of a bash. I had a fabulous time living it up with my Wake friends and getting to spend time with Jack in Florida. Meg was a beautiful bride, the DJ was great and the whole thing went off without a hitch. The newly minted Mr. & Mrs. Walters are now relaxing in Bora Bora and I’ll be posting up some photos of the event, so keep an eye out. We’ll start with these!

Heyyyyy Florida!
Just got to Bradenton for Meg & Matt’s wedding! Yahoo!
Conversations with Mom: Valentine's Day Edition
Last night my dad took my mom to Chops, a Buckhead Life restaurant in Atlanta. This is our text conversation regarding the situation.
Mom:
Whoa... It looks like the airport in here. We may have a reservation, but I think we'll be waiting quite a while!
Me:
Oh, wow. Nightmare—I'm sorry!
Mom:
Lots of lovers of all shapes and sizes. Too bad I don't know the Falcons or the rap stars, cause one of them is sitting next to me with HONKING diamonds in his ears. Probably a ball player because he is BIG. How do I know? Cause his muscular legs are too big for the chair and they are rubbing me.
Me:
Hahaha that's hilarious! He's probably a Hawk or a Falcon then.
Mom:
I think the woman he's with could take me down!
Me:
I have no doubts.
