Household Tip
Out of the blue all of our towels started smelling like mildew. I washed them in hot water, hung them up when we were finished using them and still within the first use they would stink of mildew. It was disgusting. I was at the point of tossing them all when I stumbled across a solution I decided to give a shot. Vinegar & baking soda. And it works. Really, really well.
So here’s the drill.
Using hot water, soak towels in washer with 2 cups white vinegar for 30-60 minutes. Then run the load without detergent. Refill the washer with hot water, add detergent and 1 cup baking soda, run as usual. Dry them as you usually would and BAM! Sweet smelling towels that are as good as new.
Just call me Martha. Stewart, that is.
You’re welcome.
The Great Apartment Clean Out
We have way too much stuff in our apartment and I have decided that this week is when it all has to go. Starting with the office I am cleaning out closets, donating items and getting rid of the clutter. I’m sure the Container Store will be thanking me for my business come end of January.
