The Spirit of Christmas

On Christmas Eve my mom, dad and I go to the midnight service at my church. It is filled with Lessons and Carols proclaiming the birth of Christ.

Every year the service concludes with the hymn “Joy to the World.” As the song crescendos into its third verse the congregation, bathed in candlelight, exclaims with voices filled with Christmas “He rules the world with truth and grace…”

And every year I get chills. Welcome, Christmas.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.” Amen, AMEN!
