"Stories in Form": Design is about life.
The chair that I designed while at Portfolio Center is on display at MODA beginning this weekend for the “Stories In Form” show. Jessica also has a chair in the show. You should stop by and check it out if you are in the Atlanta area! portfoliocenter: “Stories in Form”: Design is about life.  See what design is really about. Here’s a hint, it’s a heck of a lot more than moving...

Hitting My Stride (Part Two)
I think one of the most important parts of finding friends is learning to adjust your perspective on friendship. Through high school, college, and graduate school the way you interact with your friends is so different from life after school. In college, you spend all day with them. You can call them up and just ask them to come over, lay on your couch and watch bad tv. You don’t have to...

Hitting My Stride (Part One)
You would think that moving back to your hometown would be easy. That you would know all kinds of people, that you would have built in friends, that your social life wouldn’t stall out. For some people, maybe that is how it works. Unfortunately, that’s not how it worked for me. I moved home and I realized that it wasn’t quite that easy. That at 27, it takes a lot of work to...

Christie's Silver Lining
A very good friend of mine, Christie, has begun a blog to journal her goals and adventures over the course of the year. She has made this year a dedication to healthier and more environmentally and community consciousness. Her first goal is a 28 day health detox that she is working through, but I think the most interesting (and difficult) is her decision not to shop for the entirety of 2012. She...

The Great Apartment Clean Out
We have way too much stuff in our apartment and I have decided that this week is when it all has to go. Starting with the office I am cleaning out closets, donating items and getting rid of the clutter. I’m sure the Container Store will be thanking me for my business come end of January.

The best part of the movie
English soldier: You speak good English.
German soldier: I speak English *well*.
This is my biggest grammar pet peeve & I got a real kick out of it when it was featured in the movie (War Horse).

The Spirit of Christmas
On Christmas Eve my mom, dad and I go to the midnight service at my church. It is filled with Lessons and Carols proclaiming the birth of Christ. Every year the service concludes with the hymn “Joy to the World.” As the song crescendos into its third verse the congregation, bathed in candlelight, exclaims with voices filled with Christmas “He rules the world with truth and...

Word to the Wise
When you realize Toys’R’Us wrongly packaged a present with incompatible parts 2 days before Christmas, be prepared to cope with a madhouse in the store. You will probably be body checked and have to hunt around on the floor for the correct accessories before you can make your exchange. But, fear not, with agile moves and quick thinking you can not only achieve your objective but escape...
